Investor watch: Climate activist Richard Brooks and the art of divesting  

Ignoring Richard Brooks is a new type of climate risk. Richard Brooks, a.k.a. @R_BrooksStand, is not a Twitter account most investors might follow, but they should. Brooks is the go-to director of climate finance at the U.S. and Canadian climate organization Stand.earth. He also led one of the most important fossil fuel divestment efforts ever, coordinating 350.org’s DivestNY campaign, which successfully secured a groundbreaking fossil fuel divestment commitment from New York City in 2018. That, in turn, grew into a ban on new fossil fuel projects, a climate damages lawsuit…
