Peter McKillop is an award-winning writer, journalist, and publisher of Global 2050, a non-profit media company focused exclusively on financial news, and policy analysis of emerging environmental, climate, and energy-related issues. He is the publisher of Climate & Capital Media and Green Central Banking, news sites providing non-partisan, independent journalism and commentary on green finance and the transition to a post-carbon economy. 

Mckillop has a distinguished and wide-ranging career as a foreign correspondent and senior global external affairs executive in the U.S., Asia-Pacific, and Europe. He began his career covering national and international political and financial events as a correspondent and bureau chief for Newsweek magazine in New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. He has also served as a senior communications executive at BlackRock, J.P.Morgan, KKR, Bank of America, and UBS, leading global teams focused on building their regional and global brands, and managing complex media and policy issues. 

Peter graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in history and African Studies. He serves as a board member of the Africa-America Institute,  Hirondelle USA, and Eaglebrook School.

He is based in New York with his wife, a senior producer at Reuters Plus. They have two grown children.
